Promo Mechanics

HSBC Premier Mastercard Top Spender Promo Terms and Conditions

  1. The HSBC Premier Mastercard Top Spender Promo (the "Promo") shall run from November 1, 2018 to January 15, 2019 (the “Promo Period”).
  2. The Promo is open to all HSBC Premier Mastercard (“HSBC Premier Mastercard”) credit cardholders whose cards are issued in the Philippines (“Cardholders”) and are in good credit standing during the Promo Period in accordance to HSBC Card Terms & Conditions, at the time of the extraction date to determine the winners and until the claiming of the prize. For the avoidance of doubt, a card is in good credit standing if there is no reason for HSBC to restrain, suspend, cancel, withdraw or terminate the card pursuant to the HSBC Card Terms and Conditions as well as Legal and Regulatory Compliance Policy considerations.
  3. Officers and employees of HSBC in the Philippines, its advertising/PR agencies and its accredited service providers, including their relatives up to the second degree of consanguinity and affinity are disqualified from the Promo. Further, cardholders located or residing in countries where HSBC Philippines is restricted/prohibited from marketing this sales promotion activity are disqualified from joining the promo. 
  4. A Cardholder will be disqualified from the Promo in the event that his/her HSBC Mastercard is not maintained in good credit standing, his/her Premier Mastercard become/s delinquent or is cancelled 
  5. To participate in the Promo, the Cardholder must use his/her HSBC Premier Mastercard during the Promo Period (based on transaction date) and meet the following conditions (the “Eligible Spend”):

    a. Meet the Php 500,000 minimum accumulated spend requirement during the entire Promo Period. Transactions should be made within the Promo Period. 

    b. Valid transactions shall be any of the following:
    i. Straight transactions, including local or foreign currency-denominated transactions;
    ii. Online transactions; OR 
    iii. Merchant instalment purchases; 

    Each merchant instalment transaction will be considered as one transaction amount. As such, succeeding monthly amortizations from the same merchant instalment transaction will not be counted as a separate transaction amount. 

    c. Transactions made by the Cardholder’s supplementary credit cardholder/s will be qualified as part of the Primary Cardholder’s accumulated spend.
  6. The following transactions are excluded from the Promo:

    a. Balance Transfer, Straight to Installment, Balance Conversion or Cash Installment Plan transactions;
    b. Cash advance or quasi-cash transactions;
    c. Casino or gambling transactions;
    d. Split transactions (same merchant, same day);
    e. Business-related transactions;
    f. Cancelled / Reversed transactions; 
    g. Disputed transactions;
    h. Any unauthorized or Fraudulent transactions;
    i. Any balance transferred to the account; OR
    j. Any fees or charges;
  7. The top 8 eligible Cardholders with the highest Eligible Spend amount during the Promo Period, subject to clauses #5-6, can win one (1) of the 8 Aman Tokyo Travel packages. 

    Details of the Aman Tokyo Travel package inclusions are as follows: 

    a. Round-trip Premium Economy class for 2 persons to Tokyo, Japan from Metro Manila, Philippines via  Cathay Pacific; 
    b. Deluxe room for 2 consecutive nights on a twin-sharing basis with breakfast for 2 persons; and
    c. VIP Welcome amenity (a bottle of red wine and selected chocolate)
    d. Travel Validity: Until July 31, 2019 and extension of validity will not be allowed.
    e. The hotel reserves the right of decision on all matters relating to the use of the hotel voucher. For detailed terms and conditions, please refer to the hotel voucher.  
    f. Block-out Dates: 
    i. February 2 - 10, 2019; and
    ii. March 21 – May 5, 2019.

  8. 20% tax for prizes exceeding Php 10,000 shall be shouldered by the winning cardholder.
  9. In the event that there is a tie in the total amount spend for the top 8 positions, the eligible Cardholder who achieves the tied Eligible Spend amount first (based on transaction date and time) will be given the higher position in determining the winner.
  10. HSBC will extract from its system and identify the top 8 Cardholders on   January 22, 2019 (Wednesday) in the presence of a DTI and HSBC representative. 
  11. Winners shall be notified by telephone and registered mail within two (2) weeks from the extraction date. Notification on how to claim the prize will be made to the existing contact details contained in HSBC’s records / system. 
  12. To claim the prize, the winning Cardholder must go to HSBC at the 7th Floor, HSBC Centre, 3058 Fifth Avenue West, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City from Mondays to Fridays (except holidays) from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. HSBC will provide the voucher in order to claim the airline tickets and book the hotel reservation, upon presentation of the required documents listed below.
  13. He/she must present the following documents within fifteen (15) days from the winning Cardholder’s receipt of the notification letter: 

    a. Signed Original copy of the notification letter from HSBC 
    b. Signed Quit Claim Form, prepared by HSBC, to be sent with the notification letter 
    c. Photocopy of a valid ID with photo (ex. TIN ID Card, Company ID with photo and signature, Driver’s License, SSS ID Card or Voter’s ID) 
    d. Photocopy of the winning HSBC Premier Mastercard (face of the credit card only)
    e. Valid Tax Identification Number (TIN) – Winners must submit their TIN to claim their prize. Winners who do not have TIN would need to secure a one-time TIN from the Bureau of Internal Revenue; and 
    f. Proof of payment of the 20% prize tax. 

    After the 15-day claiming period, unclaimed prizes will be forfeited with prior approval from DTI. 

    Authorized representatives must bring the Authorization letter and a valid ID along with all the six (6) requirements stated above.
  14. The winner should arrange his/her own Japan Visa/transit Visa requirements. Fees and charges that will be incurred related to the processing of the Japan Visa will be shouldered by the winning cardholder. 
  15. Prize is not convertible to cash, but transferrable.
  16. The winners authorize HSBC to disclose and publish their names, photos and other particulars as determined by HSBC to any person/s and in any mode or manner, as HSBC may deem appropriate. 
  17. For any cardholder complaints / concerns in relation to the Promo, please call the HSBC Customer Service at (02) 85-800 from Metro Manila, 1-800-1-888-0000 PLDT domestic toll-free, +63(2) 976-8000 from overseas, or send an email to hsbc@hsbc.com.ph.
  18. In case of dispute with respect to the Cardholder's eligibility, coverage of dates, fulfillment, etc., HSBC's decision shall prevail in concurrence with DTI.
  19. Fraud, abuse or any unauthorised action relating to the credit card transaction, the participation in the Promo may result in the disqualification of the Cardholder from the Promo, suspension and/or cancellation of card privileges and/or the charging of the full cost of the prize to the Cardholder's account, at HSBC's discretion. This shall be without prejudice to any legal action that may be taken by HSBC. 
  20. Mastercard does not assume any responsibility for the products and services offered or provided under the Promo. The products and services are provided solely by the relevant vendors, under such terms and conditions as determined by such vendors, and Mastercard accepts no liability whatsoever in connection with such products and services. The products and services have not been certified by Mastercard and under no circumstance shall the inclusion of any product or service in the Promo be construed as an endorsement or recommendation of such product or service by Mastercard.

Aman Tokyo Reservations

  • The winning Cardholder is required to call or email Aman Tokyo with the details of the redemption letter in order for Aman Tokyo to honour the reservation. All rooms are subject to availability uponprior reservation.
  • Check-in: Standard check in time after 3:00PM; standard check out time at 12:00PM.
    Check-out: For an early arrival prior to 3:00PM, the room(s) must be reserved from the previous evening at the applicable full night to guarantee the availability of the room.
    For an extended check-out up to 6:00PM are subject to availability based on the hotel occupancy on the PM, half of the applicable rate per room will apply and after 6:00PM, a full night’s rate will apply.

Airline Ticket Reservations

  • The flight detailed in the offer/promotion is valid for Premium Economy (“E” class) only. Prior reservation is required. Booked flight Tickets do not include applicable taxes, fees and surcharges. These shall be collected upon ticketing and shall be shouldered by the winning Cardholder.
